Office of The Attorney General of The District of Columbia
This page consists of a few of the projects I completed over the fall and spring semesters of 2022- 2023.
I was able to research and propose issues based on my knowledge and research to the Chief of Staff and the Attorney General for the District of Columbia.
I also designed infographics that explain the role of the Attorney General's Office.
Proposal - Plan for Youth of Washington, DC
This proposal is for the Office of the Attorney General for the District of Columbia to collaborate with youth leaders and organizations to host a panel discussion, giving young people in the community a platform to express their concerns and ideas. The goal is to understand the issues that are important to young people in the community and to provide guidance to the next Attorney General on how to serve youth communities in Washington, DC, best.
The significance of this proposal lies in the fact that it empowers young people to voice their concerns and ideas, providing them with a platform to communicate with the Attorney General directly and helping to ensure that youth voices are heard and addressed.
Research for Highschool Advisory Council
This project is research for The Highschool Advisory Council. The Office of the Attorney General (OAG) for the District of Columbia hosts a summer program to bring DC students together to educate and propose policy recommendations to the Attorney General and his staff.
The program aims to give youth a seat at the table in making important decisions about issues that directly affect them. One of the summer 2023 issue areas is the influence of social media and protecting children from harm.
I proposed that the program should seek to educate teenagers on the importance of their digital footprint and how to stay safe online. Cyberbullying, exposure to inappropriate content, decreased face-to-face interaction, unrealistic expectations, addiction, and privacy concerns are potential issues with children being influenced by social media.
By educating teenagers on the importance of their digital footprint and how to stay safe online, the program aims to prevent them from becoming involved in dangerous online behavior.
