How has HBCU's dealt with the aftermath of COVID?
This is a 20-page paper completed in PR Research & Strategies (PUR4500).
It explores how HBCU students dealt with the COVID-19 pandemic and how it impacted their daily lives. The study was conducted through survey data from 50 students at a particular HBCU in the Southeastern United States.
The COVID-19 pandemic and associated lockdown significantly impacted HBCU students, exacerbating ongoing issues such as mental health and financial burdens and creating new problems such as social isolation and abrupt transitions to virtual learning.
HBCUs mainly took financial hits during the COVID-19 pandemic, which led to many students facing unrecognized personal challenges, making college more stressful than usual.
The study aimed to understand how HBCU students made meaning of their lives during the pandemic, revealing relevantly different personal issues but common factors.
